We’re currently looking for an experienced Construction Manager to join a major civil engineering delivery team working across infrastructure projects in the South East, Midlands, and South West (Heathrow – Bristol – Southampton – Northampton corridor).
This is a key site leadership role, responsible for driving safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery across complex earthworks, drainage, and structural packages.
What you’ll be doing:
- Leading and coordinating Non-Working Supervisors (NWS) and Frontline Supervisors (FLS) across active sites
- Ensuring safe systems of work are implemented and consistently followed
- Carrying out site inspections, identifying hazards, and ensuring actions are closed out
- Delivering toolbox talks, inductions, and safety briefings to a high standard
- Overseeing site logistics including plant, materials, and equipment coordination
- Supporting programme delivery with technical input and practical solutions
- Maintaining accurate site records, reporting, and allocation sheets
- Working closely with Project Managers on progress, workforce performance, and delivery challenges
- Promoting strong health & safety culture, PPE compliance, and site standards
- Managing plant usage, off-hire/on-hire processes, and supporting cost awareness
- Ensuring high standards of housekeeping, waste control, and site organisation
- Supporting onboarding, training, and development of site teams and apprentices
What we’re looking for:
- Strong background as a Construction Manager or Senior Site Supervisor in civil engineering
- Solid experience in earthworks, drainage, deep excavations, and temporary works systems
- Strong knowledge of safe systems of work and exclusion zones
- Proven leadership experience managing site teams and supervisors
- Good understanding of H&S compliance and site safety standards
- Commercial awareness with an understanding of programme and cost impact
- Strong communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills
