The Opportunity

You will join a specialist capital allowances practice that operates as part of a wider multi‑disciplinary professional services platform in a law firm. The team works closely with colleagues across commercial real estate, construction, and residential development, meaning instructions are consistently generated through internal referrals.

This is role in the team ideal for someone looking to further develop their technical expertise while learning from highly regarded senior specialists. You will report into senior managers and work closely with experienced partners known for their strong technical pedigree in property tax and capital allowances.

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting with the preparation and delivery of capital allowances claims across a variety of property types
• Analysing construction cost data, project documentation, and financial information
• Drafting clear, well‑structured technical reports for submission to HMRC
• Supporting client interactions and attending meetings as required
• Collaborating with senior team members on complex advisory projects
• Keeping up to date with relevant legislation and HMRC guidance

About You

• Strong experience in capital allowances or a closely related field
• Background in consultancy or professional services
• Degree in a relevant discipline such as surveying, tax, accountancy, engineering, law, or property
• Working towards or recently qualified with RICS and/or a tax or accounting qualification (ACA, ATT, CTA)
• Exposure to commercial property, construction, or development projects
• Strong analytical skills with excellent written communication
• Detail-focused, organised, and able to manage multiple workstreams
• Commercially minded, with an understanding of client needs and project context
