Head of Fleet

Are you an experienced fleet professional ready to lead at a national level? This is a rare opportunity to take full ownership of a diverse UK-wide vehicle operation, driving compliance, efficiency, and operational excellence across the business.

THE ROLE

You will take strategic and operational responsibility for a large, geographically diverse national fleet of approximately 200 vehicles (3.5T–18T). Working closely with operational managers across the UK, you will ensure the fleet runs smoothly, safely, and in full regulatory compliance — all while keeping a firm grip on costs and service standards.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

• Leading the management of a diverse, multi-weight national fleet Ensuring full compliance including Operator's Licence oversight
• Supporting regional managers with driver and vehicle compliance Building strong relationships with internal teams and external suppliers
• Overseeing workshops and service standards across the network Managing fleet costs, fines, and day-to-day expenditure
• Handling fleet administration — V5s, purchase orders, and more
• Producing weekly performance and compliance reports for senior leadership

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Transport Manager CPC — essential
• Proven, recent hands-on fleet management experience
• Strong knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Experience managing commercial vehicles — highly desirable
• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities at pace
