SALARY: £27,052 per annum pro rata + Benefits

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Front of House Cafe Supervisor to join a busy, customer-focused hospitality team in a thriving visitor destination. This role is ideal for someone with strong front of house experience, team leadership skills, and a passion for delivering excellent customer service in a fast‑paced café environment.
As a Front of House Cafe Supervisor you will take ownership of daily front of house operations, ensuring smooth service delivery, high presentation standards, and a consistently welcoming customer experience across all shifts. You will play a key role in maintaining operational efficiency and supporting continued growth.
Working as a Front of House Cafe Supervisor you will lead by example, supervising staff, coordinating service, and supporting training to ensure the team delivers high‑quality food and drink service. You will also work collaboratively with kitchen and hospitality teams to ensure a seamless service.
You will also support stock control, compliance, and event delivery, helping to create a professional, efficient, and customer‑focused environment that enhances the overall visitor experience.
DUTIES
- Team Leadership: Supervise front of house staff, delegate tasks, and ensure smooth day‑to‑day operations
- Customer Service Excellence: Deliver outstanding customer service, creating a welcoming and professional environment
- Operational Management: Coordinate daily café operations, ensuring efficient service and workflow
- Staff Training and Development: Support onboarding and training across service standards, menus, and allergen awareness
- Stock Control and Inventory: Monitor stock levels, manage deliveries, and minimise waste through effective rotation
- Financial Administration: Operate POS systems, manage cash handling, and complete accurate end‑of‑day procedures
- Service Standards and Presentation: Maintain high standards of cleanliness, layout, and visual presentation
- Event Support: Assist with catering and hospitality for private events and bookings
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure adherence to food hygiene, allergen regulations, and health and safety procedures
- Team Communication: Deliver clear briefings and maintain effective communication across shifts
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
ESSENTIAL
- Previous experience supervising or leading a team in a busy customer‑facing or hospitality environment
- Strong customer service skills with a passion for delivering an excellent visitor experience
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and support a team
- Experience working in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- A proactive, professional, and enthusiastic approach
- Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusive working practices
DESIRABLE
- Experience with barista duties and coffee preparation using commercial machines
- Knowledge of stock control, inventory management, and POS systems
- Understanding of food hygiene, allergen awareness, and health and safety standards
- Experience supporting events or catering services
