Lead Credit Risk Business Analyst (Permanent)
Location: London (3 days in office)
Salary: £110,000 – £125,000 + 20% bonus
We are working with a leading global investment bank seeking an experienced Credit Risk Business Analyst to join its global markets risk function. This is a permanent role focused on delivering complex credit risk transformation and regulatory initiatives, with a strong emphasis on Potential Future Exposure (PFE) across derivatives and repo products.
Role Overview
This role sits within a highly regulated global markets environment and requires deep subject matter expertise in credit risk, particularly in relation to traded products. The successful candidate will work closely with Credit Risk, Front Office, Technology, and Risk Management teams to shape and deliver enhancements to risk frameworks and exposure methodologies.
A strong understanding of derivatives and repo products is essential, along with the ability to operate at a senior level within a complex, global organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a Lead Business Analyst within credit risk change and regulatory programmes, with a focus on PFE, exposure modelling, and limits management
- Provide expert credit risk knowledge to support design and enhancement of risk frameworks across global markets
- Translate complex business, risk, and regulatory requirements into clear functional specifications for delivery teams
- Support end-to-end delivery of credit risk initiatives across derivatives and repo businesses
- Engage and influence senior stakeholders across Front Office, Risk, Technology, and Finance functions
- Contribute to governance, control frameworks, and documentation in line with regulatory and audit expectations
- Support ongoing improvement of credit risk methodologies and analytics across trading portfolios
Required Experience
- Extensive experience as a Business Analyst within Credit Risk / Global Markets / Risk Analytics environments
- Expert-level credit risk knowledge, ideally gained within a global investment bank or major financial institution
- Strong product expertise in derivatives and repo markets is essential
- Deep understanding of PFE (Potential Future Exposure) and exposure-based credit risk frameworks
- Proven experience working on regulatory or large-scale risk transformation programmes
- Strong stakeholder management skills with exposure to senior Credit Risk and Front Office stakeholders
- Desirable: Previous line management or team leadership experience within a credit risk or analytics function
- Ability to operate effectively in a highly governed, fast-paced, global environment
