The Role

Property Damage & Recoveries Solicitor - Leeds / Birmingham / Bristol - Hybrid - up to £55,000

An exciting opportunity has become available for an ambitious Insurance Lawyer to join a well-established national firm within its specialist Property Damage and Recoveries team. This is a great chance to work on a varied and high-quality caseload, focusing on subrogated recovery work for a strong portfolio of insurer clients across both household and commercial claims.

You’ll take ownership of a caseload of property damage recovery matters arising from a broad range of perils, including fire, flood, escape of water, impact and product liability. The work is both interesting and technically engaging, with claims typically exceeding £10,000 and regular exposure to higher-value matters in the £10,000–£100,000+ range.

This role would suit a lawyer who enjoys the technical side of property recoveries but also values client interaction. Alongside delivering high-quality legal advice, you’ll have the opportunity to get involved in client relationship development, whether that’s supporting training sessions, mentoring junior colleagues, or contributing to knowledge-sharing initiatives.

The team is highly regarded for its collaborative approach and regularly delivers seminars and workshops to insurer clients. If you have an interest in client development or enjoy sharing technical expertise, this will be a particularly good fit.

The Candidate

• Qualified Solicitor (or equivalent) with relevant technical experience
• 1-4 years’ experience in property damage litigation (defendant or claimant backgrounds considered)
• Experience managing your own caseload of property damage and/or recovery claims
• Good working knowledge of household and commercial property recoveries
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to provide clear, practical advice
• Confident drafting and communication skills
• Able to work independently while contributing positively to a team
• Client-focused with strong interpersonal skills
• An interest in negotiation, advocacy and technically complex work
