This is a substantive, full‑time appointment for a Consultant in Ophthalmology to support delivery of services within our friendly modern and well‑equipped Eye Centre. Our service is expanding, and an enthusiastic and committed individual is sought to work with our existing clinical team at an exciting point in service development. The Department has links with the Tertiary Trust at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals and delivers the Northern part of the Derbyshire Diabetic Retinal Screening (DRS) programme.
We are seeking someone with good general ophthalmic skills and consideration can be given to candidates with varied sub‑specialty interests so long as these align with departmental operational requirements. We would be particularly interested to hear from individuals who are on the Speciality Register and have an interest in medical education, as the Department will be taking on higher speciality trainees in the forthcoming year.
Further information is available in the attached job description and person specification which provides a comprehensive overview of the main duties required for this role.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it is necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
