About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Inspection & Enforcement Officer within our Highway Control team at Leicestershire County Council.

Join a motivated, friendly team of professionals to ensure highway inspections (walked & driven) are carried out within the timeframe defined in the County Council’s Highway Maintenance Policy.

This role also includes the enforcement of the Highway Act and associated environmental issues that relate to the adopted public highway, to ensure the integrity of the highway and its boundaries wherever possible.

Handle problematic customer enquiries and enforcement issues that need specific attention, whilst ensuring protocols are followed. Keep accurate records to track enquiries and complaints, ensuring performance targets are achieved.

The nature of the work may involve you carrying out work outside of normal working hours.

This role is a “safety critical post” and, consequently, subject to random drug and alcohol testing in accordance with our policies and procedures. A copy of our Substance Testing Policy, Procedure and Guidance is available upon request.
