Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, journal entries, and reconciliations across multiple entities (UK & NL).
- Lead and manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and full compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and internal policies.
- Prepare, review, and analyze monthly financial reporting packages and annual financial statements.
- Ensure accurate and timely tax filings in coordination with external advisors and authorities.
- Supervise, coach, and develop a team of accountants; allocate tasks effectively and monitor performance.
- Coordinate and act as the primary contact for internal and external audits, ensuring smooth audit processes and timely resolution of findings.
- Support continuous improvement of accounting processes, internal controls, and systems to enhance efficiency and compliance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional and international teams to ensure alignment and consistency across regions.
- Prepare cash flow forecasting to ensure sufficient liquidity for operational needs.
- Ensure adherence to corporate governance, internal control frameworks, and multinational regulatory requirements.
Your Profile (Skills & Experience)
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (or equivalent).
- 10+ years of experience in general accounting within a multinational environment, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, tax compliance, and audit processes.
- Proven experience managing month-end/year-end close and multi-entity accounting environments.
- Hands-on experience with accounting systems such as Exact and SAP ByDesign, as well as MS Office tools.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management skills, with the ability to mentor and develop staff.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
- Ability to prioritize, delegate, and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and ownership of financial data.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work across functions and geographies.
- Experience working with auditors, tax advisors, and external stakeholders.
- Fluent in English.
