Full job description

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Daily support for the weld production teams across three materials - Mild Steel, Stainless Steel and Aluminium

To support and lead improvement projects including introduction of new jigs/fixtures

Lead robotic welding projects - including, research, creation of business cases and implementation of cells

Help improve current processes and align these with the business' systems strategy

To develop quality assurance procedures, standards and specifications in order to deliver consistency across all areas of the business

To build effective working relationships with all colleagues

To identify best practice, both internally and externally

To create a "right-first-time" culture with accountability at every level

To support the manufacturing operation in solving output and quality issues, adopting a systematic approach.

Keep informed with manufacturing trends and approaches to developing efficient solutions.

Support the production team in the resolution of engineering related issues.

Adherence to our ISO 9001 Quality Management System & ISO 45001 Health & Safety Management System.

Adherence to company health and safety procedures.

Maintain a clean and tidy works area

Job Specification

- Qualifications, Experience, Skills, Qualities & Attributes required for the post

Qualified to Degree Level in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or similar discipline

3 Years experience in Manufacturing Engineering within a manufacturing environment - experience within a welding department desirable

Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Principles

Knowledge of welding processes and best practices

Experience with robotics within a production environment

Experience with offline robot programming software's desirable

Ability to manage projects and track through to completion

Strong interpersonal/communication skills

A capacity to build effective team working relationships across a wide range of disciplines

Excellent organization/analytical skills and a keen eye for detail

Persistence and an ability to follow-through and implement sustainable solutions

Time management skills and an ability to focus on priorities

Flexibility in approach and in working arrangements

Administrative and report writing skills

An ability to promote and facilitate change

Strong IT Skills

Ability to use Solidworks or similar 3D modelling software to create jigs and fixtures
