\nA leading international law firm with a highly regarded insurance litigation practice is seeking an experienced Property Damage Associate to join its Birmingham office. The team is recognised for acting on complex, high-value subrogated recovery claims and defending insurers, loss adjusters, and major corporates across a wide range of property-related disputes. \nYour new role
\nAs a Property Damage Associate, you will manage a diverse and stimulating caseload of property-related disputes arising from:
\n\n
\n\t- Fire, flood, escape of water, and impact damage
\n\t- Construction and engineering failures
\n\t- Defective products
\n\t- Utilities-related incidents
\n\t- High‑value subrogated recovery actions
\n
\n\n
\nDay‑to‑day responsibilities include:
\n\n
\n\t- Running your own caseload of litigated and pre‑litigation property damage claims
\n\t- Drafting pleadings, letters of claim/response, and technical advice for insurer clients
\n\t- Conducting investigations with experts, engineers, surveyors, and loss adjusters
\n\t- Attending conferences, mediations, and settlement discussions
\n\t- Assisting partners with high-value and complex multi‑party disputes
\n\t- Supporting the development of junior fee earners through supervision and mentoring
\n\t- Developing strong relationships with insurer clients and key stakeholders
\n
\n\n
\n
\nWhat you'll need to succeed
\n\n
\n\t- 3+ years PQE in property damage, insurance litigation, or commercial litigation with relevant exposure
\n\t- Strong technical knowledge of negligence, construction/product liability principles, and CPR
\n\t- Experience handling your own caseload with autonomy
\n\t- Excellent drafting and analytical skills
\n\t- Ability to communicate clearly and confidently with clients, experts, and colleagues
\n\t- A commercial approach and a focus on delivering exceptional client service
\n\t- Experience in defendant insurance work or subrogated recovery litigation is highly advantageous.
