Head of Supply Chain

Electronic Manufacturing – Hybrid, Ipswich.
This well established, world class Electronics manufacturing business works across a number of sectors, including Greentech, Medical and Aerospace and are committed to excellence, following internationally recognized quality standards.
They’re now looking to recruit a Head of Supply Chain, a Hybrid position covering their sites in Mildenhall and Felixstowe. Reporting to the COO and with a team covering estimating, purchasing and sourcing and the warehouse, this is a hands on role for a highly motivated individual that genuinely wants to make a difference.
Responsibilities
- Drive and manage continuous quality improvement within the Supply Chain.
- Implementation and standardisation of procedures, controls and best practice.
- Minimise inventory by use of de-expediting and working with JIT principles.
- Define SMART departmental and individual objectives, to meet top level business needs.
- Lead the negotiation and review processes for key procurement and manufacturing supply contracts.
- Work in accordance with the various ISO and AS standards.
- Drive and manage lead time reduction within the Supply Chain.
- Attend supplier meetings as required.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years Supply Chain Management experience, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience of the Electronic and Mechanical components marketplace.
- Experience of manufacturing systems and processes.
- Proven people management and team building and motivational skills and experience.
- Degree or equivalent in Electronics/Manufacturing/Production Engineering and CIPS qualified.
- Demonstrable ability to create effective long term supplier relationships.
- Experienced and effective negotiator.
- Good understanding of Planning & Logistics, including Logistics Modalities and Incoterms.
This role will require you to travel between their two offices in Mildenhall and Felixstowe 4 days a week, together with occasional supplier meetings, both in the UK and overseas.
