We are supporting a PE backed organisation in the appointment of an Interim Finance Director to stabilise, review and strengthen the finance function during a period of change.
This assignment has a strong focus on reviewing, improving and embedding robust financial processes and controls, ensuring the finance operation is fit for purpose and scalable.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct a thorough review of existing finance processes, systems and internal controls
- Identify control gaps, inefficiencies and risk areas; design and implement practical improvements
- Strengthen month-end close, reporting, budgeting and forecasting processes
- Improve financial governance, policies and compliance frameworks
- Act as a senior business partner to the MD, Board and wider leadership team
- Support and develop the finance team, introducing structure, clarity and accountability
- Provide hands‑on leadership while maintaining a strategic, value‑adding perspective
Key Requirements
- Proven experience operating at Interim Finance Director or Senior Interim FD level
- Track record of process improvement, control remediation and finance transformation
- Comfortable operating in imperfect environments and delivering change at pace
- Strong stakeholder management skills with credibility at Board level
- Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) preferred
