A rare opportunity has become available for an MRTPIAssociate Director to join a highly regarded planning consultancy and take a leading role in the growth of its South Coast operation.

This business has a strong planning reputation built on delivery, relationships and commercial understanding. Their clients include house builders, institutional investors, land promoters and private landowners. The Associate Director will play a key part in securing new work, leading major projects and developing the team.

The Role

• Leading complex residential and mixed‑use planning strategies
• Managing major client relationships and acting as a trusted advisor
• Driving business development and generating new instructions
• Supporting Directors in strategic growth planning for the region
• Leading and developing a team of planners, including mentoring and performance management
• Financial oversight of projects, ensuring profitability and strong fee management
• Representing clients at Local Plan examinations, hearings and inquiries
• Supporting recruitment and team expansion plans

• Proven experience leading major planning projects
• Strong commercial awareness with fee and budget management experience
• Confident leader with experience managing staff and workloads
• Strong regional network across the South Coast development market
