About the Role

This varied and rewarding role supports the Council’s ability to prepare for, respond to and recover from emergencies and disruptive incidents that affect our communities. The postholder will work across the organisation and with external partners to strengthen emergency planning and business continuity arrangements, helping services understand risk, maintain robust plans and build resilience into everyday practice. The role also offers opportunities to design and deliver training, exercises and support learning from incidents, contributing to continuous improvement of the Business Continuity Management System. As part of the borough’s on‑call emergency response rota, the postholder will play a vital role in providing professional resilience advice during live incidents.

About You

This role would suit someone with experience in emergency planning, business continuity or resilience who is motivated by work that has real impact on people, services and communities. You will be comfortable working across a large, complex organisation, supporting services to understand risk, plan for disruption and continually improve preparedness. You will be organised, adaptable and able to remain calm and focused when priorities shift, including during live incidents.
