We are experiencing a significant increase in demand for our unique service and are recruiting Site Managers to help meet this requirement.
In this role you will be responsible for and manage all site activities on high‑end fit‑out projects. This should be done with a can‑do attitude. You will work autonomously using your fit‑out/construction knowledge to problem‑solve and make decisions daily. You will be the main on‑site contact for the Contracts Manager, clients, sub‑contractors, and other trades. You will also coordinate all aspects of the works so that the fit‑out project is completed safely in line with the clients’ requirements, within budget, on time and finished to an exceptionally high standard.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage all site‑based operatives, overseeing all aspects of their work, including safety inductions, toolbox talks, controlling quality of work, ensuring method statements and order fulfilment, cleanliness & tidiness, the use of plant and tools, waste reduction, upkeep of plant and facilities, and use of personal protective equipment/wear.
- Provide first aid facilities, ensuring there is a first aid area kept clear and first aid stocks are maintained.
- Ensure safety to public, site visitors and staff on site at all times, including personal protection and following all aspects of the health & safety proposal.
- Survey site and check all setting‑out dimensions; flagging up any issues.
- Set out all partitions, ceilings, doors, etc. and cross‑reference to ensure all fixtures, counters, fittings will fit as required.
- Understand and interpret all drawings and specifications fully and work to these drawings, keeping drawings in good condition.
- Manage all drawings and continually update superseded drawings.
- Set out and coordinate all services above ceilings to avoid clashes.
- Manage all subcontractors’ productivity and ensure good output and time‑keeping.
- Deliver the project on time and snag‑free by snagging all subcontract and own work packages at each stage.
- Work well with all company personnel such as the quantity surveyor, buying department, CAD department, accounts department, contracts administration, to ensure effective outcomes.
- Lead employees to meet the organisation’s expectations for productivity, quality, and goal accomplishment.
- Provide performance management and development processes to encourage employee contribution.
- Coordinate all subcontractors, both direct and nominated, gearing them up before they attend site.
- Maintain a clean & tidy site at all times.
- Ensure quality of finish throughout all stages.
Essential Criteria
- Substantial experience of the full life cycle of a number of high‑end fit‑out projects, involving supervision of project and staff.
- Qualified tradesperson with proven track record for quality.
- CSCS card (Management level).
- Knowledge of CDM regulations.
- Experience in coordination and installation of services.
- Analytical skills to understand and interpret complex technical specifications, drawings and documents and formulate plans.
- Basic IT skills to enable flow of information, particularly Microsoft Outlook.
- Strong planning skills and ability to review plans/programmes regularly.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings using AutoCAD.
- Understanding and commitment to equal opportunities.
Desirable Criteria
- Qualified first aider.
- Construction Management HND/Degree or equivalent.
- Relevant H&S qualification.
