Manufacturing Science & Technology (MSAT) – Senior Manager / Associate Director (Biologics)

Walker Cole are currently hiring for an MSAT leadership opportunity within a global biologics organisation, supporting drug substance manufacturing across commercial products and new product introductions.

This role sits within a central MSAT function and focuses on technical oversight, process performance, and lifecycle management for biologics manufacturing, with a strong emphasis on mammalian cell culture and downstream purification.

Key responsibilities:

• Provide technical leadership across biologics drug substance manufacturing (upstream & downstream)
• Lead and support tech transfer and scale-up activities into commercial manufacturing
• Act as MSAT lead across internal sites and external CDMO partners
• Support process performance, investigations (deviations), and troubleshooting
• Contribute to process validation, CPV, and lifecycle management activities
• Drive process optimisation and continuous improvement initiatives
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Development, Quality, Supply Chain, and Regulatory

Requirements:

• Strong experience within biologics MSAT, process development, or manufacturing support
• Background in mammalian cell culture and/or downstream purification
• Experience supporting tech transfer and/or commercial manufacturing
• Strong understanding of GMP and process lifecycle management
• Ability to operate cross-functionally and influence stakeholders
