About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Specialist Mentor/Tutor to join our team in delivering high-quality 2:1 provision in Egham. This role involves providing tailored academic and pastoral support to young people, helping them overcome barriers to learning while fostering both personal and educational growth.
You will deliver structured, engaging sessions, working closely with students to build confidence, improve attainment, and develop essential life skills. This is a highly rewarding opportunity to make a lasting difference in a young person's life.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver tailored tutoring and mentoring sessions across core subjects (e.g., Maths, English, Science)
- Provide both academic and emotional support, adapting approaches to meet individual needs
- Promote engagement and create a positive, inclusive learning environment
- Support students in setting and achieving personal and academic goals
- Monitor progress and adjust strategies to maximise impact
- Build strong, trusting relationships with students and their families
- Collaborate with schools and the wider Purpose Driven Youth team to ensure consistency and alignment
- Manage session planning, delivery, and associated administrative tasks
Qualifications
- Experience working with young people in a mentoring, tutoring, or educational setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build trust and inspire confidence in young people
- Flexible, patient, and empathetic approach
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Enhanced DBS check (required)
- Experience supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
- Understanding of challenges faced by marginalized or at-risk youth
- Degree in Education, Psychology, Youth Work, or a related field
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (beneficial but not essential)
