The Mission

As a scale‑up experiencing rapid commercial momentum, they are already partnering with major retailers and wholesalers. They are now looking for an ambitious, high‑energy Business Development Manager to act as the face of the brand within the independent retail and wholesale ecosystem.
The Opportunity
This is a role for a true "hunter" who thrives on the pace of a scale‑up environment. You will have full commercial ownership of your territory, responsible for driving success across independent health stores, convenience retailers, and the wider wholesale network.
You won't just be managing accounts; you will be leveraging the wholesaler network as a growth multiplier to maximise brand availability and visibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Wholesale Mastery: Partner with regional and national wholesalers to optimise ranging and joint promotional plans, ensuring their reps are fully briefed on the brand.
- New Business Acquisition: Identify and win new independent customers to rapidly increase our geographic footprint and brand penetration.
- Strategic Account Management: Nurture an existing portfolio to improve rate of sale, visibility, and repeat purchase through tailored promotional plans.
- Commercial Ownership: Own your territory’s sales performance, delivering on revenue targets and using data‑led insights to shape your business cases.
- Field Excellence: Execute best‑in‑class merchandising and POS standards, while feeding market intelligence back to the leadership team.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who is tenacious, resilient, and excited by the challenge of building a category‑leading brand.
- FMCG Expertise: Proven field sales experience within FMCG, ideally in drinks, snacks, or functional nutrition.
- Channel Knowledge: Experience selling into independent convenience, health stores, or wholesale/route‑to‑market channels.
- Commercial Acumen: A strong understanding of pricing, margins, and the levers that drive profitable growth.
- Data‑Driven Mindset: Confidence using sales and wholesaler data to inform decisions and generate reports.
- Values‑Led: A genuine passion for health, wellness, and sustainability.
