A leading top-tier firm in London is seeking a talented Electronics Patent Attorney to join its highly regarded Intellectual Property practice. You will work at the forefront of innovation across a broad mix of technologies, with a particular emphasis on software and/or hardware-related inventions, including AI, telecommunications, semiconductors, embedded systems, and advanced electronics.
Key Responsibilities
- Drafting and prosecuting UK, European, and international patent applications
- Advising on patent strategy, portfolio development, and IP risk
- Conducting patentability and freedom-to-operate analyses
- Supporting EPO opposition and appeal proceedings
- Working closely with clients to translate complex technical concepts into commercially valuable IP protection
- Supporting business development and long-term client relationships
Candidate Profile
- Qualified UK and European Patent Attorney (essential)
- 1–5 years’ post-qualification experience (PQE)
- Strong academic background in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a related field
- Experience in software and/or hardware technologies (e.g. AI, machine learning, telecoms, semiconductors)
- Excellent drafting, analytical, and communication skills
- Commercially minded with strong client-facing ability
- Ambitious, collaborative, and motivated to progress within a top-tier environment
Compensation & Benefits
- Genuinely market-leading salary, typically in the range of £105,000 – £130,000+ depending on experience
