About the RoleRutherford Care, the healthcare division of the Rutherford Chase Group, is recruiting a Chef Assistant to join a busy care home kitchen in Stone. This is a hands-on role offering long-term stability and responsibility, including running the kitchen independently when required.
Working Pattern- Rota-based across 7 days (including weekends)
- Typically 35 shifts per week
- 12-hour shifts
Key Responsibilities- Assist with food preparation and meal service
- Run the kitchen independently in the Chefs absence
- Maintain cleanliness, including washing up duties
- Complete daily logs and ensure compliance paperwork is up to date
- Follow COSHH, Environmental Health, and Health & Safety procedures
- Support stock control and basic ordering
Requirements- Previous kitchen experience (care, school, or contract catering preferred)
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Good understanding of food hygiene and safety standards
- Willingness to take on responsibility beyond a typical assistant role
- Reliable, hardworking, and flexible
