Pharmacy Branch Manager | Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

Lancashire Hospitals Services is delighted to offer a Branch Manager position to cover our Outpatient Pharmacy Sites at the Royal Blackburn Hospital.

It is an exciting time to join the team after we have recently expanded our services to providing outpatient pharmacy services to the following NHS trusts: Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust, East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust, Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.

You will be supported in your role by other branch managers, our Operations Manager and Superintendent Pharmacist.

Responsibilities

1. Be responsible for the effective operation of your allocated branch.
2. Manage a high-functioning team.
3. Work in collaboration with other branch managers.
4. Ensure that company KPIs are met.

Duties

• Act as a role model for the team.
• Promote and uphold a positive culture.
• Manage rota, including responding to absences.
• Investigate incidents and complaints.
• Line manage staff in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Manage attendance, conduct and performance.
• Coordinate day-to-day activities for the team.
• Conduct 1:1s and appraisals.
• Ensure training compliance is up to date.
• Serve as a key holder for the branches.
• Ensure that drug recalls are actioned within the recommended timeframe.
• Train and assess competencies of new and existing team members.
• Ensure compliance with ethical, professional, legal and GPhC Pharmacy Standards.
• Ensure company KPIs are met and, where applicable, improve team performance to achieve targets, including near misses, interventions and turn‑around times.
• Act as a point of contact and respond to queries raised from both internal and external colleagues.
• Ensure accurate completion of weekly CD balance checks.

Outpatient dispensing services are provided at Royal Preston Hospital, Rosemere Centre (within Royal Preston Hospital), Chorley and South Ribble District General Hospital, Royal Lancaster Infirmary, Westmorland General Hospital, Furness General Hospital, Blackpool Victoria Hospital, Royal Blackburn Hospital and Burnley General Hospital.
