Clinical Responsibilities
Clinical work is at the level of a Foundation doctor, depending on experience and your clinical responsibilities salary will be commensurate with this level of experience. Depending upon specialty you will also participate in an out-of-hours rota that will be remunerated appropriately in line with the Trust Doctors Contract.
- Assessment and management of in-patients.
- Assessment and management of acute admissions.
- Attend ward rounds as timetabled.
- Attend multi-disciplinary ward meetings.
- Attend out-patients (where appropriate) and assist with inpatient management.
- Fulfil the duties of the weekly timetable including out-of-hours responsibilities, weekend and nights on a rota pattern.
- Maintenance of the highest clinical standards in the management of clinical services.
- Share with colleagues responsibility for the day-to-day management of patients within RCHT.
- Ensure active participation in continuing medical education (CME).
- Actively participate in departmental and Trust matters concerning Clinical Governance and Audit.
Additional Responsibilities
- Attend meetings as appropriate.
- Provide a service to the Royal Cornwall Hospitals’ NHS Trust, responsible for prevention, diagnosis, treatment of illness and proper functioning of the department.
- Cover colleagues’ annual leave and other authorised absences.
- Any responsibility related to a special interest.
- Participate in medical audit, the Trust’s Clinical Governance processes and continuing professional development.
