Responsibilities
The post-holder will support continuous development of research management structures required for delivery of good quality research from the development of first ideas to studies publication, and will lead a team of facilitators while liaising with the Research Delivery Lead on project delivery.
- Work closely with the local investigators, academic collaborators, and clinical staff to ensure effective and safe delivery of research taking place within the Trust.
- Oversee a small team of research facilitators.
- Be familiar with the regulatory and ethics requirements for the conduct of clinical research, especially the Research Governance Framework, Good Clinical Practice, and related guidance, in order to ensure delivery of authoritative advice to investigators and continued compliance with regulations and governance.
- Help and support the development of musculoskeletal research within the Trust as well as externally.
- Assist in the development, implementation and administration of research and clinical monitoring activities at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital.
- Establish and maintain effective systems of recording, storing and linking research monitoring at Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital.
- Plan, design and conduct audits of clinical research activity at Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, including informed consent and adherence to research protocols in conjunction with research coordinators and clinical research teams.
- Interpret research management and governance policy requirements and write workable operational processes, working with research coordinators, senior researchers and clinicians to ensure that new procedures are implemented widely.
