Overview

We are looking to appoint a TB Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team.

Qualifications

Along with your NMC registration and post‑registration experience within the speciality of TB or respiratory, the successful applicant will form part of the Tuberculosis Prevention and Control Nursing Service, serving SaTH and the communities of Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and Powys.

Responsibilities

• Act as a clinical expert in TB management and infection control.
• Manage a caseload of patients with complex needs and associated incidents/outbreaks.
• Lead contact tracing clinics.
• Lead specialist investigations such as cluster and whole genome sequencing.
• Support and deliver clinical audits, service evaluation, and quality improvement.
• Develop and implement clinical policies, protocols and guidelines.
• Provide education, training and mentorship to health‑care staff and students.
• Ensure efficient use of resources and contribute to governance, risk management and incident review.
• Enhance patient experience through advocacy, communication and service‑user engagement.

The post holder will work with the TB MDT to deliver a service that reflects the needs of patients and their families affected by TB.

The post holder is accountable for safe, effective clinical practice and supports the ongoing development of staff, service delivery and patient outcomes across Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and Powys.
