Overview
Our client is a well‑established and successful company looking for an experienced Workshop Engineer to join their team. This will be site based.
Responsibilities
- Repair, maintain and service a wide variety of workshop machines using supplied lifting equipment.
- Perform PDI (Pre‑Delivery Inspection) of new machines and fit additional parts and attachments as required.
- Investigate, diagnose, and resolve customer reports of technical problems with equipment.
- Carry out general engineering duties, including working at height and within all plant machines.
- Move and transport machines within and outside the workshop.
- Order parts efficiently and effectively.
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external customers.
- Supervise other workshop engineers, ensuring high quality work and safe procedures.
- Cover for the foreman when absent or on annual leave.
- Assist in booking machines in and out.
- Ensure machines are ready for transport collections.
Benefits
- Salary: £16.00 – £18.00 per hour, depending on experience (£18+ if you have OEM/Dealer/JCB experience).
- Hours: 40 per week (8:00 am – 4:30 pm) with a 30‑minute unpaid lunch break.

Qualifications
- Previous experience in a similar role such as Hydraulics Engineer, Service Technician, HGV Technician, HGV Engineer, HGV Mechanic, Mechanical Fitter, Plant Fitter, Plant Mechanic, JCB Engineer, JCB Technician, JCB Mechanic, Plant Maintenance Engineer, etc.
- A valid driving licence – the role does not include a van.
