Recruitment Consultant – Temporary Desk (Industrial Sector)
Location: Rochdale
We are recruiting a Recruitment Consultant to join our successful and growing branch in Rochdale, supporting a busy temporary desk that focuses on industrial, logistics, warehousing and manufacturing roles across the area. The position is permanent and full‑time, working Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, and offers an opportunity to run your own desk and develop new business while delivering a high‑volume, high‑quality temporary solution.
Responsibilities
- Sourcing and placing candidates into temporary assignments across industrial and logistics environments
- Managing all branch enquiries via phone and email from both clients and candidates
- Weekly payroll responsibility for 40+ temporary workers
- Writing and posting engaging job adverts across job boards and internal platforms
- Conducting telephone screens, face‑to‑face and WhatsApp video registrations
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships through regular contact and on‑site visits
- Negotiating rates and terms with both clients and candidates
- Generating new business using sales, business development, marketing and networking techniques
- Identifying leads and converting them into sales opportunities
- Arranging and attending client meetings to present Meridian’s recruitment solutions
- Keeping CRM records fully up to date and compliant
- Understanding market trends, margins and competitor activity to maximise performance
- Achieving KPIs and contributing positively to the wider branch success
Your own transport is essential for frequent client visits.
Qualifications
- At least 2 years’ experience as a Recruitment Consultant, Temp Consultant or Internal Recruiter
- Proven experience recruiting within industrial sectors (warehouse, logistics, manufacturing, production)
- A successful track record of running a temp desk (ideally)
- Strong relationship‑building and customer service skills
- A proactive, sales‑driven and target‑focused mindset
- Confidence, resilience and a “whatever it takes” team attitude
