This is a key role working as part of our professional Security team taking responsibility for delivering proactive and effective prevention activities and emergency response in order to maintain a safe and secure environment for our staff, visitors, contractors, living collection and assets both by day and night.
As a Security Officer you will:
- Maintain the highest level of security at the zoo delivering proactive and effective prevention activities and emergency response
- Conduct effective security tasks including surveillance, people searches, foot and mobile patrols during the day and night
- Support the Security Supervisory & Management team ensuring that regular reviews of security vulnerabilities are identified, highlighted, addressed or suitably mitigated
- Demonstrate a high level of competency in the use of all security systems to maximise their operational benefit
The Package
- Permanent contract
- Average of 42 hours per week, working 8 days out of 16 on a rota basis (including day and night shifts)
- 33 days annual leave pro rata to days worked (equivalent to 23 days per annum)

Our Requirements
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Full driving licence
- SIA front line door supervisor licence
Although not essential, the following would be desirable:
- SIA public space CCTV licence
- First Aid at Work qualification
