Overview

Tower Hamlets Talking Therapies (THTT) is one of the leading national Talking Therapies services and we are keen to recruit an experienced Counsellor. The successful candidate will join our dynamic Counselling Therapies team and work alongside other therapists trained in a variety of modalities, including person‑centred, humanistic, integrative, psychodynamic, EMDR, Eating Disorders treatment, CBT and a well‑established PWP team.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counselling interventions for clients with mild to moderate common mental health problems, using a stepped care approach.
• Monitor performance and outcomes in conjunction with the stream lead.
• Conduct triage assessments (face‑to‑face, telephone or other approved communication mediums) – number per week specified by line managers/clinical lead.
• Work with clients from diverse cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary, and may work in community settings such as GP surgeries.

Qualifications

• BACP/UKCP registered or accredited.
• Eligible and willing to undertake NHS Talking Therapies training in Counselling for Depression if requested.

Working Arrangements

Hybrid working is offered. A minimum of one working day a week is required at our office or designated East London Trust Foundation community sites, with potential to work on site more than one day a week in the future, subject to appropriate notice.
