Private Patients Co-ordinator | Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust

We are recruiting two Private Patient Coordinators – one based at the Westminster Maternity Suite, St Thomas’ Hospital, the other at the Fertility (Assisted Conception) Unit, Guy’s Hospital.

The Private Patient Coordinator will act as the first point of contact for private patient referrals and enquiries, responding in a timely, professional and patient‑focused manner and providing a high‑quality administrative and coordination service.

Key responsibilities include:

• Participate in the weekly rotating roster with shift coverage 8am – 8pm.
• Provide clear, accurate and comprehensive information on services, consultants, pathways, costs and coordinate appointments.
• Track and follow up on all enquiries via email, phone or website, converting them into booked appointments.
• Manage a busy mailbox, responding promptly to all enquiries.
• Ensure outpatient/inpatient occupancy and income generation are maximised.
• Search and gather notes and relevant information for new patients and emergency appointments swiftly.
• Prepare reports, spreadsheets, presentations and other documents as requested.
• Prepare acknowledgement letters and draft replies where required.
• Undertake additional administrative duties as requested.
• Support ongoing projects, maintain effective internal and external liaison, and provide cover for colleagues.

The role requires regular interaction with multidisciplinary teams in busy clinical settings, managing complex and sensitive issues, exercising sound judgement with minimal supervision and helping promote the Trust’s clinical services and specialties.

At the assisted conception unit we offer a supportive, caring multidisciplinary team that encourages professional development. Successful candidates will receive comprehensive training, opportunities to attend maternity and fertility events, and shadow clinical settings including fertility laboratories.

This role supports the growth of Private Patient Services and their contribution to NHS services.
