About the Role
Reed Education is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 1/2 Teacher to join a warm and supportive primary school in Scunthorpe after the Easter break. This is a full-time role suited to a practitioner who is passionate about early learning, confident in delivering the KS1 curriculum, and committed to helping children flourish academically and socially during these formative years.
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for a teacher who can effectively support a mixed Year 1/2 class, ensuring a smooth transition between early learning and more structured KS1 expectations. The successful candidate will have:
- Experience delivering the Key Stage 1 curriculum, with the ability to support pupils across a range of abilities and stages.
- Strong understanding of early literacy and numeracy development, with the ability to drive progress in core skills.
- A nurturing, positive classroom presence, encouraging independence, resilience, and a love of learning.
- Good assessment knowledge, using formative and summative approaches to inform teaching and intervention.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and relevant primary teaching experience, particularly in KS1.
Key Responsibilities
- Planning and delivering engaging and well-paced lessons to meet the needs of both Year 1 and Year 2 pupils.
- Creating a warm, structured, and inclusive learning environment where all children feel supported.
- Tracking progress carefully and providing targeted support to ensure pupils meet age-related expectations.
- Building positive relationships with pupils, families, and the wider school community.
- Contributing to a collaborative team ethos, with high expectations for learning and behaviour.
