Year 5 Class Teacher (Open to ECTs!)
- Contract: Maternity Cover
- Start date: 1st September 2026
- End date: TBC, expected contract length to be 1 or 2 terms
- Location: South Croydon
A successful and reputable one-form-entry primary school near to South Croydon is seeking a Year 5 Class Teacher to support them with a maternity cover contract from September 2026.
This primary school is situated in a lovely sub-urban town on the border of Croydon and Surrey, with excellent transport routes as it is walking distance from Purley overground train station, plus, host on-site parking or free on-street parking nearby.

The Headteacher offers 1 full day fortnightly off-timetable to dedicate to planning (paid as normal).
This is a classroom teaching role in Year 3 is offered on your pay scale in line with experience via PAYE.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take full teaching responsibility for a lower Key Stage 2 class (Year 3)
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons in line with the National Curriculum
- Assess, monitor, and report on pupil progress, adapting teaching to meet needs
- Create and maintain a positive, well-managed classroom environment
- Support the learning and development of all pupils, including SEND and EAL
- Safeguard and promote the wellbeing of all children
- Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and colleagues
- Contribute to a stimulating and inclusive learning environment
- Complete essential administrative tasks, including record-keeping and reporting

Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Enhanced DBS Disclosure, overseas police clearance (if applicable), and professional references
- CV covering the last 10 years of employment, with explanations for any gaps
- Legal right to work in the UK
