About the Role

We are recruiting on behalf of a successful all-through school seeking an experienced and highly effective Lead Practitioner for English to join their team from September 2026.

This is a key strategic role focused on shaping and strengthening high-quality teaching across the English department and the wider school. The successful candidate will model exemplary classroom practice, support colleagues through coaching and professional development, and help drive consistently strong outcomes for all pupils.

Applications are welcomed from existing Lead Practitioners, as well as experienced practitioners who are ready to progress into a lead practitioner role, with appropriate support available.

The Role: Lead Practitioner – English

As Lead Practitioner for English, you will work closely with teachers, middle leaders, and senior leaders to develop ambitious, inclusive, and research-informed teaching practice.

You will play a central role in improving the quality of teaching and learning, embedding effective pedagogy, and supporting staff to grow in confidence and impact, ensuring excellent outcomes for students across all phases.
