Job Description
SEMH Pupil Inclusion Assistant - Secondary PRU | Oldham | Full-Time
Are you resilient, patient, and passionate about supporting young people who need it most? We are recruiting for a committed SEMH Pupil Inclusion Assistant to join a specialist secondary Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in the Oldham area.
This is a highly rewarding opportunity to work with students who are unable to access mainstream education due to social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. The school provides a structured, nurturing environment where pupils are supported to re-engage with learning, develop emotional regulation, and build positive futures.
The PRU is well-resourced and designed to meet the needs of its learners, offering small class sizes, high staff-to-student ratios, and dedicated spaces for intervention, de-escalation, and pastoral support. You will be part of a strong, experienced team including teachers, behaviour mentors, pastoral staff, and senior leaders who prioritise both student progress and staff wellbeing.
The school is easily accessible across Oldham via public transport and also offers on-site parking.
The Role As an SEMH Pupil Inclusion Assistant, you will work closely with students on a 1:1 and small group basis, supporting them to manage behaviour, engage in education, and develop key life skills. You will play a vital role in building trust, promoting positive behaviour, and creating a safe and consistent environment.
