An impressive scale up business, backed by a global investment management company are seeking a qualified Legal Counsel to join their growing development team
Our client work across a number of clean energy technologies including Solar PV and BESS in the UK and across a growing client base in Europe.
With an appetite to expand their renewable energy portfolio, they require legal support across their project lifecycle operations, with a primary focus on the development stages.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded lawyer looking to play a key role in the delivery of critical energy infrastructure projects.
This role requires 2-3 days a week office working in London
Key Responsibilities
- Provide legal support across the development stages of their portfolio, with further support across other business areas.
- Lead on site control and land strategy, including negotiation of option agreements, leases, easements/wayleaves, and managing full title due diligence
- Advise on planning, permitting, and regulatory matters, supporting projects through the consenting process and mitigating development-stage risks
- Support early-stage project structuring and commercial agreements, including grid connection arrangements, JDAs, and development-stage M&A
- Support project financing activities, including due diligence and lender negotiations
- Work closely with internal stakeholders including development, engineering, and commercial teams
- Manage external legal counsel where required
Requirements
- Qualified solicitor in England & Wales with a minimum of 2 years PQE
- Proven experience within the renewable energy sector, ideally with exposure to Solar and/or BESS projects
- Strong understanding of UK energy regulation and project development frameworks
- Commercially astute with excellent negotiation and drafting skills
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, project-driven environment
