Job Summary
Portfolio Procurement is recruiting a Purchasing Manager for a South Yorkshire based client. The role involves managing current and future needs of the Purchasing department.
Responsibilities
- Managing, supporting, and coaching of the team
- Negotiation of all current and new purchasing contracts
- Develop and maintain a supply base globally
- Select new suppliers based on factors including cost and suitability and competence to supply
- Re-tender of all current and new commodities
- Align all material management processes
Skills and Experience
- Previous Purchasing experience at a senior level to include a solid understanding of Steel, Fabrications and Machined commodities
- Previous experience in managing a team
- Ability to travel globally should the need arise
- An understanding of lean manufacturing
