LED (ST6-8/Post-CCT Level) Cardiology Senior Clinical Fellow - TAVI

A Vacancy at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This is a full‑time post for a TAVI clinical Fellow in Cardiology for a fixed term period of 12 months. The successful candidate will support the aortic stenosis service development (TAVI Programme) development in the Cardiac Division.

The post holder will have an opportunity to gain clinical experience in the management of aortic stenosis, as well as acquiring practical knowledge and skills in TAVI procedures and dealing with procedural complications.

• Participate in and develop research protocols.
• Participate in and develop quality improvement initiatives in enhancing patient pathways of care.
• Participate in patient database development.
• Undertake clinic review of aortic stenosis patients referred for a possible TAVI and follow‑up of patients who have received a TAVI (clinics run alongside TAVI specialist nurse).
• Receive training in the management of patients undergoing a TAVI including diagnostic work‑up, effective MDT decision making, CT software utilisation, TAVI Cath lab procedure, post‑procedural care.

It is expected that the post holder would either be post‑CCT or close to completion of CCT, and will contribute to the research, clinical improvement and audit activities of the TAVI programme. There will be opportunity to, and expectation of, carrying out original research.
