Overview
We’re looking for a Hands‑on Engineering Manager to lead our Scoring Squad, the technical engine translating world‑class nutrition science into personalized biological scores our members rely on.
Role Purpose
The Engineering Manager will own the technical roadmap and system design for the Scoring domain, mentor a small team, and partner with Product, Science, and Data to productionise complex research models.
Responsibilities
- Own the technical roadmap and system design for the Scoring domain to ensure scalability, performance, and accuracy.
- Mentor and lead 2‑3 engineers, guiding them from task execution to high‑autonomy delivery with coaching and performance management.
- Partner with Product and Science to “productionise” research models and turn raw data into high‑performance software.
- Act as the primary technical partner for Nutrition Science and Data Science teams, bridging the gap between science and engineering.
- Take end‑to‑end ownership of the Scoring domain to maintain long‑term infrastructure health.
- Participate in implementation, drive system designs, and ensure best practices for every line of code shipped.
- Architect global‑scale systems that maintain 100% accuracy in biological scoring.
Technical Domain
The squad includes backend, full‑stack engineers, data scientists, and nutrition scientists. Stack: Kotlin, Python, React Native, GCP, PostgreSQL, Redis, Kubernetes, Terraform.
Candidate DNA
- Senior or Lead engineer comfortable with IDE; enjoys writing code, debugging, PR reviews.
- Proven experience leading small teams, coaching, setting technical bar, and managing performance.
- Excited by turning research‑grade logic into reliable, user‑facing insights; uses data to validate decisions.
- Thrives in high‑growth, startup‑style environment balancing architecture perfection and speed.
