About the role
As a Shift Engineer, Your role is to ensure that through your technical knowledge, skill and craft, you will consistently maintain our products and material to the highest standard for all our guests and employees to enjoy.
Working as part of the Engineering team you will undertake a range of planned and corrective maintenance duties to ensure that our back of house areas, plants, public areas along with guest bedrooms are presented at the highest standard.
- To carry out repairs to the building fabric, decorative finishes, furnishings, and fittings throughout the property with a high attention to detail.
- To maintain and operate the building plant & systems (including but not limited to boilers, pumps, air handling units, fans, electrical distribution, pipework, ductwork and associated components & plant) within the established guidelines
- Being responsive and proactive communicating effectively with our guestsand hotel teams to ensure an excellent service delivery.
- Completion of repairs, requests and following up.
- Ensure that all necessary safe operating procedures and policies relating to health and safety are adhered to with full compliance to the relevant safety standards.
- Undertake inspections to the property fire and life safety systems.
- Undertake full property and plant inspections.
- Updating records and the engineering reporting systemin accordance with operating policies and procedures.
- Monitoring the Hotels BMS system and responding to any alerts
- Ensure that all the hotel's technical processes and installations are maintained
- Assist with the completion of the Preventative Maintenance program throughout the property.
- To be the point of contact for the Engineering department in the absence of the Chief Engineer or Maintenance Manager.
About you
The successful candidate will have the following experience and skills:
- Have a passion for your work and personal pride, with a proven track record within luxury environments
- To have a thorough knowledge of the operation of all plant, boiler, air conditioning and heating equipment in the hotel and maintain in an efficient working order
- To have a good understanding of large water system and Legionella
- Be a self-motivator and someone who is ready to challenge in the interest of continuous improvement
- Excellent level of English and communication skills, with guests, management, and team members
- Hold a UK trade qualification in either an electrical or mechanical field,combined with an understanding of BMS, fire and life safety systems and legislation.
- Collaborate and be able to work effectively as a part of a team or independently.
- You will have a flexible approach with the ability to work evenings and weekend shifts
- Be friendly, approachable and professional
- You must have the right to work in the UK to be eligible for this role.
