Description

The person appointed would be expected to:
- Assist and support teaching staff in a range of educational activities, both on and off the College premises.
- Support teaching staff to develop the curriculum for students with special educational needs.
- Take responsibility for the supervision of groups of students to aid cognitive development.
- Assist in the teaching of Foundation Learning skills.
- Share responsibility with teaching staff in supervising groups of students on visits.
- Be responsible for small groups of students in learning situations outside the College environment.
- Supervise students in practical areas including recreation areas and outdoor facilities.
- Attend meetings and complete mandatory training in accordance with the college’s meeting/training schedule.
- Assist at the college’s Open Evenings / Consultation Evenings.
- Take care for the health and safety of himself/herself and persons who may be affected by his/her omissions at work.
- Undertake any other duties as may be assigned commensurate with the grade and overall responsibility level of the post and as changing circumstances may require.

Contract and Salary Information
Closing date: 12 noon on Monday 11th May 2026, we reserve the right to close this vacancy early.
Start date: As soon as possible or 25th August 2026 (depending on the availability of the successful candidate)
Contract: Temporary until 31st August 2027
Hours: 27 hours per week (over 4 days, Mon‑Thurs) term time only. Working hours 8.45am‑4.00pm.
Salary: Point 6 to 8 - £25,558 to £26,343 per annum (payable £15,408.53 to £15,881.79 per annum depending on experience)
