Trust Doctor (CT1/2 Equivalent) in Trauma and Orthopaedics at the Royal Cornwall Hospital, Truro.

Job Details

The post is based at the Royal Cornwall Hospital Truro, the main site of the Trust. The trauma service operates from the 56‑bedded Trauma Unit, with 18 trauma operating lists per week and 15 elective lists at St Michael’s in Hayle.

Post holder will form part of a 1:10 rota at CT level, providing a 24/7 on‑call commitment. Weekday, weekend and night on‑calls are scheduled as per the rota template.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a team to admit and care for patients on the ward, in clinics and theatre.
• Maintain the highest clinical standards in the management and delivery of trauma and orthopaedic services.
• Actively participate in departmental and Trust matters concerning clinical governance and audit.
• Fulfil duties of the weekly timetable.
• Support the Trust’s NHS Net Zero target by implementing sustainable ways of working in your field.

Qualifications & Requirements

Applicants must successfully complete the following NHS employment checks:

• Criminal record checks at the required standard
• Right to work checks

Doctorial training (CT1/CT2) experience and a willingness to develop clinical and teaching skills are required.
