Job Description
Global payments are complex and ever‑evolving, and our Salesforce platform is a critical component that empowers our operations, commercial, and finance teams to scale with our growth. At Checkout, our Salesforce Engineers develop and enhance the platform and its integrations, enabling teams to manage merchant relationships, streamline business processes, and achieve operational excellence.
We're looking for an Engineer to join our Salesforce team – someone who is eager to learn, ready to contribute from day one, and excited about growing their skills within a collaborative engineering environment. You'll work closely with experienced engineers and business stakeholders across our portfolio, operating with a genuine customer‑first philosophy.
As an engineer in this team, you will contribute to projects across the Salesforce platform and its integration ecosystem under the guidance of senior engineers. You'll gain hands‑on experience designing, developing, testing, and deploying Salesforce solutions while building a strong foundation for your engineering career at Checkout. We value curiosity, a growth mindset, and a willingness to take on new challenges as you develop your craft.
What we’re looking for
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Foundational knowledge of Salesforce development – familiarity with Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), or Visualforce is a plus, even if gained through coursework, personal projects, or certifications.
- Awareness of core Salesforce concepts such as Governor Limits, declarative tools (Flow, Process Builder), and standard platform capabilities.
- Strong communication skills and a willingness to engage with both technical peers and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Enthusiasm for learning agile ways of working and contributing to high‑quality code in a team environment.
- Good problem‑solving instincts and a collaborative attitude – you ask questions, seek feedback, and are proactive about your own growth.
- Curiosity about AI and emerging technologies – comfortable using AI‑powered developer tools such as Cursor or Claude to accelerate coding, debugging, and documentation.
- Any exposure to payments or financial services is a bonus, but absolutely not required.
- A Salesforce Administrator or Platform Developer I certification is beneficial, but not mandatory.
How you’ll make an impact
- Contribute to cross‑functional teams including product management and business operations, working alongside experienced engineers to deliver real outcomes.
- Support the design and development of scalable Salesforce solutions, learning industry best practices along the way.
- Stay engaged with the latest Salesforce and related technologies – absorb knowledge from your team and gradually share your own learnings.
- Write clean, maintainable Apex and LWC code on meaningful business systems, with guidance and code reviews from senior engineers.
- Take growing ownership of Salesforce features and components, developing your ability to build and operate resilient solutions.
- Learn from and collaborate with senior and mid‑level engineers, absorbing best practices and developing your technical foundation within the Salesforce ecosystem.
