We’re looking for a collaborative and curious Decision Scientist to help design and optimise data‑driven solutions that support machine learning, statistical analysis, and predictive modelling.

You’ll work closely with analysts, operational teams, and stakeholders across the business to develop scalable, high‑quality models that support smarter decision‑making and improve outcomes for both the business and our customers.

Day‑to‑day responsibilities

• Supporting the Head of Decision Science in the development and ongoing improvement of predictive and probabilistic models using historic and real‑time data
• Applying advanced analytical techniques including XGBoost, Random Forests, and Monte Carlo methods to solve business challenges
• Partnering with pricing and operational teams to improve workflows, automation, and analytical insight
• Identifying opportunities to improve model accuracy, efficiency, and scalabilityContributing to the development of analytics best practices and mentoring junior analysts where appropriate
• Exploring new tools, techniques, and data sources to help evolve our decision science capability

Who you are

• Experience in data science, analytics, or statistical modelling within a commercial environment
• Hands‑on experience applying machine learning techniques to real‑world datasets
• Strong experience of modelling approaches such as Random Forests, XGBoost, or simulation techniques
• Strong Python skills for data analysis and model development
• A collaborative mindset and an interest in solving complex problems through data
• Experience with additional languages such as R, Java, or Scala would be beneficial, but isn’t essential

Benefits

• £45,000 - £55,000 DOE, + up to 20% of your annual salary, paid as a bonus
• This role is based at our Manchester office
• 37.5 hours per week. We offer flexible and hybrid working between our core hours of 8am-6pm, Monday to Friday
