Title: Senior Finance Manager - Financial Reporting & Control

Royal London Asset Management is seeking an experienced Senior Finance Manager to play a leadership role within the Financial Reporting & Control team. This role has end‑to‑end accountability for statutory reporting, regulatory compliance, capital and liquidity oversight, and delivery of high‑quality financial insight across the RLAM group.
You will lead core accounting and regulatory processes, manage and develop a small team, and act as a key partner to senior stakeholders, including the CFO. Alongside delivery, you will drive continuous improvement in controls, processes and systems, and support strategic activity such as M&A and the establishment of new business divisions.
Financial reporting & control
- Own and deliver statutory accounts across all RLAM entities, ensuring full compliance with UK GAAP and internal accounting policies
- Lead the external audit process end‑to‑end as primary relationship owner
- Review monthly legal‑entity P&Ls and balance sheets, providing oversight and challenge to Finance Operations
- Produce high‑quality board and committee reporting, including financial updates and dividend proposals
- Maintain a strong control framework
Regulatory reporting, capital & liquidity
- Own all FCA regulatory reporting obligations for RLAM and associated entities
- Take a leading role in the ICARA, including document coordination, stress testing and scenario modelling in partnership with Risk
- Act as the finance SME on regulatory capital and liquidity matters
- Produce capital and liquidity MI, and manage forecasting against risk appetite
Leadership & people management
- Lead, develop and coach a team of qualified and part‑qualified accountants
- Create a resilient, high‑performing team with clear objectives and development plans
- Act as an accessible and visible leader within Finance
Projects, improvement & control environment
- Partner on strategic projects including M&A, new entity set‑up and business growth initiatives
- Drive continuous improvement, challenging manual or legacy processes and championing automation
- Oversee risk and control processes including RCSA activity and maintenance of operational procedures
- Contribute to a strong risk culture aligned to the Group Risk and Appetite Framework
Qualifications
- Qualified accountant (ACA preferred)
- Strong technical accounting background (UK GAAP, with IFRS knowledge advantageous)
- Proven experience leading statutory reporting, audit and FCA regulatory returns within asset management or financial services
- Hands‑on ICARA, capital and liquidity management experience, including stress testing and scenario analysis
- Audit background gained in practice strongly preferred
- Demonstrated people‑leadership capability, managing teams through complex deadlines
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, confident operating at senior stakeholder and Board level
- Resilient, tenacious and comfortable challenging existing ways of working
