Clinical/Counselling Psychologist

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Clinical/Counselling Psychologist to provide psychological expertise across both inpatient and community multidisciplinary team settings in City and Hackney. The post-holder will work across one of the male acute wards at the City & Hackney Centre for Mental Health (CHCMH) and the associated quadrant within the Community Mental Health Service (CMHS), a community-based multidisciplinary service, thereby offering continuity of care to those service users who are supported across these settings.

The successful candidate will work closely with psychologists and other professionals in the team maintaining a systematic approach to the assessment and care of Service Users with severe, complex and enduring mental health needs across community and inpatient settings.

Responsibilities

• Engage with service development and facilitate group psychological interventions.
• Develop partnerships across local community groups to promote social connections, community engagement and participation.
• Contribute to staff training and provide support (supervision, reflective practice, informal, ad‑hoc, and formal consultation) to other psychological therapists, mental health practitioners, nursing and other multidisciplinary colleagues, carers and people with lived experience of mental distress.
• Lead service delivery and quality improvement projects, staff development initiatives, and supervision.
• Actively participate in the City & Hackney inpatient and the Community Mental Health Service, and work closely with the Department of Psychological Therapies in City & Hackney for ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Experience in developing and facilitating group psychological interventions.
• Experience working with people with complex mental health difficulties and from a range of religious, language, cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
• Experience working in partnership with staff teams and community organisations to deliver psychologically informed care.
• Ability to engage with diverse populations and promote inclusive practice.
