About the Role
- Provide specialist public health support across the children and young people’s portfolio, with a focus on mental and emotional wellbeing.
- Play a key role in supporting the Resilient Schools Programme and contributing to the delivery of the Suicide Prevention Strategy and Action Plan.
- Work closely with schools, youth services, and a wide range of partners to support prevention and early intervention.
- Contribute to needs assessments, service reviews, and the development of evidence‑based proposals and business cases.
- Support the evaluation of programmes and projects to ensure they deliver effective and measurable outcomes.
- Communicate complex public health information clearly to a range of audiences and contribute to reports, presentations, and workshops.
About You
- A Master’s degree in a public health related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Demonstrable experience in public health, health improvement, or mental and emotional wellbeing relating to children and young people.
- Experience of conducting needs assessments, service reviews, or evaluations, and using evidence to inform decision making.
- Strong project management and stakeholder management skills, including partnership working across organisations.
- Good understanding of behaviour change approaches, the wider determinants of health, and public health data sources.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information to specialist and non-specialist audiences.
