Job Overview

The Acute Medicine department is looking to appoint enthusiastic, highly motivated and dynamic Consultant colleagues to join our team in Acute Medicine at North Manchester Hospital. The current team has varied sub‑specialty interests including rheumatology, infectious diseases, respiratory, gastroenterology and emergency medicine. A large multidisciplinary team of junior trainees, clinical fellows, ACPs, physiotherapy, occupational therapy and NMP pharmacy support our unit, and we have an excellent record of developing and retaining senior nursing colleagues.

North Manchester General Hospital is undergoing redevelopment with the creation of a health hub within our grounds, providing a unique opportunity to be involved in the future of the site and the wider Trust which serves 750,000 people across 10 hospital sites.

Responsibilities

The post will include weekend daytime sessions 1:8 and provide senior medical support to our 53 Medical Assessment Units bed split across 2 wards and our Ambulatory Care Unit.

Qualifications

The appointee will be on the Specialist register or within 6 months of achieving a CCT (or equivalent) at the date of interview.
