SEND Teaching Assistant (TA) - M30 AreaStart Date: ASAPContract: Full-time, Temporary with Long-Term PotentialPay Rate: £109.85 - £120 per day (depending on experience) We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in the M30 area. This is a full-time position with an immediate start and strong long-term potential for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
- Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities
- Support pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs
- Help create an inclusive and engaging learning environment
- Monitor and report on pupil progress
- Promote positive behaviour and support individual learning plans (EHCPs where applicable)
Requirements:
- Previous experience working within a school or SEND environment is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of SEND needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or similar
- A valid DBS on the Update Service (UDS), or willingness to obtain a new one
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach
Transferable Skills / Experience:
- Experience in care, youth work, support work, or similar roles
- Background in psychology, education, or child development
- Experience supporting individuals with additional needs in any setting
- Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
- Ability to adapt to different learning styles and needs
