Role Overview
Applications are invited for the post of Locum Consultant in Trauma & Orthopaedics at the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro. The role will primarily focus on trauma, with opportunities for elective practice to maintain competencies.
Responsibilities
- Maintenance of the highest clinical standards in the management of orthopaedic surgical patients
- Deliver a high quality trauma service
- Maintain an elective interest to suit the needs of the service
- Provide trauma-focused practice with potential elective opportunities; could be a developmental trauma-only role for the right candidate
- Share responsibility with colleagues for day-to-day management of the T&O workload
- Teach and train junior staff and medical students where applicable
- Ensure active participation in continuing medical education (CME)
- Participate in departmental and Trust matters concerning Clinical Governance and Audit
- Attend meetings as appropriate
- Fulfill duties of the weekly timetable, including out-of-hours responsibilities and full participation in local MDT processes
Qualifications
Consultant level in Trauma & Orthopaedics with suitable subspecialty interest.
