Commercial Insurance New Business Executive

Overview

We are currently recruiting for an independent, family-owned Insurance broker in Gloucester with impressive long-term growth plans, who are keen to expand their team with the appointment of a commercially astute Commercial New Business Executive to join their Commercial team. They employ over 25 people in Gloucester and invest in training and development, encouraging study for Chartered Institute of Insurance qualifications. The ethos remains aligned with when the company was established.

They are looking for an executive with a couple of years’ experience looking after commercial risks. They will consider candidates with a movable book or those who want to build a book from scratch during the covenant period.

Responsibilities

• Support the commercial team in acquiring new business and managing commercial risks.
• Develop and/or manage a book of business, potentially starting from scratch or transitioning a movable book.
• Engage with clients in a customer-facing sales focused role and maintain high service standards.
• Collaborate with colleagues to provide comprehensive insurance solutions across major classes of commercial insurance.
• Utilise the Acturis system when available.

Qualifications and Experience

• At least 3 years of commercial insurance experience in a customer-facing sales-focused role.
• Cert CII or above, or willingness to study towards CERT CII.
• Confidence dealing with major classes of commercial insurance – property, business interruption, liabilities, motor, professional indemnity, etc.
• Experience using Acturis is a bonus.

Salary, Hours and Benefits

Basic salary £40,000–£60,000 depending on experience and track record, plus car allowance and annual bonus. Office hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm. Hybrid working is available; a minimum of 3 days in the office is preferred, especially at the start, but flexible options may be considered.
